Tomar was the last Templar town to be commissioned for construction.
The city was founded at the end of the 12th century, in 1344, by a master of the Knights Templars inside the walls of the Convento de Cristo.
Nowadays, the Templar Castle of Tomar, the Order of Christ convent of Rebirth and the conventual wall form the Convent of Christ.
