Are you a lover of American poet, Walt Whitman?
Then, you’ll probably enjoy this new tribute anthology, “Endlessly Rocking”, currently available on Amazon.
"Endlessly Rocking" honors the memory of Whitman as it considers his legacy 200 years after his birth -- in a variety of poetry written in response to, in the style of, and as a tribute to the celebrated, ecstatic poet.
Below, is my poem featured in this new book:
And, if you’re wondering Why Am I Afraid of Angels, here’s my feeble answer:
I believe that such a concentration of Light is intimidating, overwhelming ... I think of angels as an embodiment of our higher conscience — to endure such an awesome encounter, one must be spiritually mature, pure of heart.
Or, as another beloved poet, Rilke, powerfully put it:
"For beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror, which we are still just able to endure, and we are so awed because it serenely disdains to annihilate us. Every angel is terrifying."
Wishing you a lovely, and restorative weekend. d. 🙏🏼✨
