Time for a walk to the center of Dieren.
We, my youngest and I are on our way to the center of the village. There are two new supermarkets and I wonder about their prices and the delivery service of one.
"Look", the youngest says, "this is a Heineken bush."
Good enough to make a picture of this special species. I wonder who left it here. Why not take it back to the shop and collect the money for it? A minor drinking in secret or a drunk?
I like this building.
It is a school. In this area, you still find many old buildings. It creates an atmosphere I like.
What do you think about these houses?
They are not big but if it comes to it big enough. It isn't that long ago large families lived in a two-room house or apartment.
If we say two-room it means a living + one bedroom. By now we are spoiled. We all need our own bedroom.
This street is across the road where the two new supermarkets are.
I had a look at the "pick up center" of one and a boy informed me how it works (order your shoppings online and pick them up at 3 different times only, pay for it and pay a fee of 5 euro for each plastic box they use to pack your shoppings in. What is the win here? Five euro for one box?!).
This is the main shopping street.
Most shopping streets in the Netherlands look the same. Same shops, same windows, same look, boring.
It is a grey day so not many people are outside.
Bikes are what many uses. I am not sure if it is allowed to drive here in your car.
Those black sculptures in the front are meant for the bikes. You use a chain to attach your bike to it so it hopefully will not be stolen. If so there is a bike shop around the corner.
"Coca-cola grows here too", my youngest stated.
By now it has an eye for details. While I focus on the buildings it focuses on the street. Me standing still to take a photo is common by now.
These houses look a bit different as the earlier ones I showed.
They are build in 1927 and renovated. All still have a storage cellar. I think the kitchen and the bathroom are built later. Both you find at the back of the house where the garden is.
A chimney they have too but the fireplace is gone.
Across this street you find shops, the doctor and pharmacy.
