The little dancer.

Look who I met this morning on my way to the bus station.
A fox. No, I didn't kill it,not drove over it too. Driving over life or a dead body feels the same to me. At first I thought it was a dog.

The sad thing is the only times I see a fox these days is when they are dead. Shot by a hunter who hangs the 'trophy' at the side of his truck or hit by a car and left behind for dead.

Animals feel pain too, do not think you are the only one. I took care of many, all kinds of, foxes included and they suffer. In most cases they suffer because of us humans (you know them that specie that claims to be an animal lover).

This fox is small. I think all the foxes around here are. This little dog (yes, it belongs to the family of dogs) is smart and easy to train.
By now they are protected in the Netherlands and you are not allowed to shoot them. Keeping them as a pet is no longer permitted either.

I found the little red hair the way you see it now. Just it's tail was down. I stood next to it as a truck passed by and the tail flew up in the air.
The photo reminds me if a dancer. In the film "All dogs go to heaven" (an animation) you see dogs in heaven. It is a bit boring there. I hope little fox finds a better place to stay, to jump, dance and chase and not too many people drove over it.

they are getting quite brave around here,... last week there was one sat on the roof of a hot food delivery car, .. and when its mating season our garden becomes a haven for elicit howling sex (from the fox's offcourse)

Really. Are they protected where you live? Once saw one climb high on the scaffold of a building being renovated. You cannot blame them if we take away their habitat and waste food and throw it everywhere. It is an easier way of hunting.

I wish you a great Friday 💕

@wakeupkitty that is so sad. People here hit a lot of raccoons with their cars, it is a sad sight to see. I agree with you animals feel pain and they feel it when they lose a family member or even a furry friend.

Does anyone take them away? In the Netherlands cities should but wildlife is not allowed. If they are hurt they go to different shelters as dogs and cats.

Some cities let animal care do it. As I worked for it and drove the ambulance I picked up and scratched more dead animals off the (rail)road as sick and alive ones.

Have a great Friday 💕

@wakeupkitty There must be someone who picks them up idk for sure but I am thinking animal control might do it.

That is so sad. Someone took it away. My youngest said it was gone. In most cases it stays still it is vanished. First swollen, next flattened. Cats and hedgehodges I see a lot too next dogs. No one takes them away. 🤔.

Thanks for responding. I wish you a great day 💕
