Karamalz - Malt Beverage - Classic is what I'll test today.
I haven't been that fit today but hey, it is #BeerSaturday and I have two options on my side table.
One is a beker with tea (yes, I drink tea in a cappuccino beker) the other is a can with non-alcoholic beer.
I drink my tea first.
To be honest I am afraid of this beer. Have you read the name? What will I find in it? Syrup? #BeerSaturday is the only reason I bought it.
Imported from Germany it says.
Privatbrauerei Eichbaum GmbH & Co (no idea who Co. is) Käfertalerstr 170, Mannheim is the brewery. I wonder what it looks like, someone's kitchen perhaps?
This is not a very attractive can with all the info printed on it. 🤔 I assume it is law?
The beer is clearly not meant for the West but the East part of Europe, the part of the world where English and German is not spoken (neither is French, Spanish, Italian or Dutch). Big chance we do not like this kind of beer.
Here we go, sugarwater: 330ml, carbohydrates 10.5 g/100ml (!) and calories 44/100 ml makes +145 = no fun (good I skipped dinner and am not using an app that counts calories).
I am not happy with what I smell.
My nose is partly closed thanks to my allergies but I sniffed and sniffed three more times.
I smell something that reminds me of honey. Time for the kids test. I let them sniff and tell what they smell. If they like they can taste it too.
One says it is the smell of honing drop (does not like that kind of drop). But, according to the ingredients, there is no honey in it.
The other says it smells somehow familiar and the taste does not fit to what you smell. I agree with both.
You smell something like honeycomb or wax and taste?
This beer is not bitter, neither is the aftertaste you just get sticky lips from it.
If you intend to kiss someone you better not do this after you drank this beer unless the one of your choice drinks this too.
This might be a great beer for people who drink sugar with tea or sugar with coffee, the lollipop lovers, children and those with a sweet tooth who do not like beer.
I did not test it on the wolves, snails or wasps.
I joined #BeerSaturday a few times.
I cannot find my first post back but here are some other beer entries to read.
My connection is very slow but you can always tag me if you have a beer story to share.
Underneath you find my @actifit report of Sept. 20, 2019.
I walked with the dog, drove one of my children to the bus station, walked, wrote, arranged and went shopping (the children needed new shoes, (Except for shopping it all belongs to my daily chorus).
My Daily Diary I will post later.
