In July 2019, I visited Italy for the first time in my life. I’ve been to Firenze/ Florence for a week and while I was there, I also visited Milan and Pisa.
My overall impression about Firenze was ‘romantic’. However, the city attracts many tourists, which makes it a little less authentic in my opinion. But in general, I had such a great time and I think everyone should visit Firenze if they have the chance.
Firenze owns a lot of beautiful buildings and paintings (especially from the renaissance), thanks to the family Medici. They were a very rich and powerful family. The family Medici invested a lot of money in several beautiful places like Palazzo Pitti, Boboli Gardens and Uffizi.

Uffizi is one of the oldest and most important museums of the world. You can easily spend half a day in there. My favorite painting was “The Birth of Venus” from Botticelli (1485).
Of course, I also visited the famous Duomo (Florence Cathedral) and the Ponte Vecchio. Two words: incredible and beautiful.

In Milan, I only took several pictures of the cathedral and did not visit it. It's a shame, because YOU HAVE TO VISIT the cathedral of Milan when you're there. You have to keep in mind that showing your shoulders and knees are not allowed and that you can't enter the cathedral. Of course, I didn't think of that. But, it's a good raison to visit Milan once again, isn't it?
Hopefully you liked my first culture post about Italy. If you have any questions or remarks, let me know in the comments. I took the pictures with Canon EOS M100.
