Hello to all the Steemit users. Within just a short time of its recent launch, Disney plus has attracted the eyes of many viewers with the variety of series and movies it has to offer. It has engulfed almost all the major productions like Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars. I personally am a huge fan of all of them. But if I had to choose my favorite movie from among them, I would say that it is Star Wars Episode VI : Return of The Jedi.
Star Wars as we all know is one of the top franchises. The movie series they have is loved by many. First let us begin with what happens in the movie, Return of The Jedi.
ABOUT THE MOVIE
The movie begins with C-3PO and R2-D2 going to Jabba The Hut's place on Tatooine where Han Solo is capture. Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker are also later taken captive there. Jabba The Hut sentences them to death. Luke and his comrades however are able to make a daring escape from the clutches of Jabba. The Rebel Alliance learns of a Second Death Star in preparation. Han leads a team to the forest Moon of Endor, to destroy the shield generator protecting the star. Luke and Leia also accompany him.
There they encounter a tribe of Ewoks who after trusting them help them in their mission. Luke intends to confront his father, Vader and so is brought to him on the Death Star. Vader intends to turn him to the dark side. After a fierce battle, the emperor is enraged by Luke's denial to join him and he tortures him. To prevent the death of his son, Vader intervenes, defeating the emperor but also killing himself in the process.
Meanwhile, Han, Leia and the Ewoks destroy the shield generator. Taking advantage of this, the rebel fleet destroys the Death Star, while Luke escapes on a shuttle. Thereafter, the Rebels and the galaxy celebrate the fall of the Empire.
ANALYSIS OF THE MOVIE
Return of The Jedi provides a satisfying conclusion to one of the best sci-fi franchises of all time, the Star Wars Saga, at least until Disney brought back the franchise The Force Awakens. It is a film series which changed the whole dynamics of the movie industry and raised the bar of special effects. Return of The Jedi delves into the concepts of redemption and sacrifice and it does so very beautifully. Luke is shown as an optimistic hero and his love for his father triumphs in the end. He never gives up the hope of redeeming his father from the dark side, despite the continuous claims from Vader that he can never be turned. The conversion of Vader to Anakin, though even for a short time was indeed very joyful.
The movie is filled with a lot of crazy action scenes. The battle on the Moon of Endor is indeed a delight to watch. The Ewoks are such cute looking creatures and the way they take on the troopers from the empire gives the movie a kind of comic relief as there was also this suspense building side by side when Luke went to confront his father alone. The Ewoks were loved by the audience a lot. One of the best scenes were when they considered C-3PO to be their God.
All in all I believe the movie successfully provides a befitting conclusion to the first trilogy of Star Wars. I would recommend each and everyone to start watching the Star Wars franchise if they haven't and do watch this movie.
