The oldest surviving fair with Medieval origins is in the Sherwood Forest.
It is believed that the name comes from the droving of Geese to the market by traders and it became known as the 'Goose fair'.
The first reference appeared in a charter dating from 1284.
This is a track I recorded on the 25/11/2018 to perform this piece live you would need 1 guitar, 1 bass, 2 mandolins, 2 violins and 2 cellos.
