Good day my fellow steemians and my good people of steem-travelers. I am delighted to make my food post in this community. As a food lover I will be making food post as well as post that relate to nature, plant and adventures.
Today I want to show you all the step by step procedure of cooking bitter leaf soup.
Bitter leaf soup is a traditional dish in Nigeria and it is mostly eaten by the Eastern and south-south part of Nigeria my country.
Please follow through as I am going to show you how to prepare the soup.

Ingredients used in preparing bitter leaf soup are:-

  1. Bitter leaf
  2. Water leaf
  3. Melon (optional)
  4. Meat
  5. Fish
  6. Palm oil (red)
  7. Salt
  8. Please
  9. Crayfish
  10. Onga cube
  11. Perewinkle
  12. Stock fish
    Onion

Preparation

Step 1

Already washed Bitter leaf

Pound and was the bitter leaf untill the bitter taste is no more there. Preferably at some point you can use hot water and squeeze it with a little bit of salt. When you are washing be tasting it until you are okay with the taste you want.

Step 2

Seasoned meat

Wash, season and steam the meat. To season the meat, I added pepper, onga cube, salt and onion. Put it on fire to steam for about 10 minutes. The purpose of this is to add taste to the meat.

After that I added water to it and then add stockfish and fish. Cover it to steam for 5 minutes. After that I also added perewinkle to it. Still cover it for a while.

At this point I added my chopped water leaf to it. Add salt and also added red oil. After adding them I cover it to steam for 5 minutes.

When it boiled for a steamed for a while I added crayfish and pepper to it and mixed the ingredients. Cover the pot for a while.

At this point I now added melon to the soup. Mixed it, cover it for 2 minutes. For the melon to cook well. The melon serve as soup thickener. It will make the soup to be thick.

Adding bitter leaf

After allowing the melon to steam a bit. I later added bitter and onga cube. Turn it allows it to steam for about 40 seconds and bring down the soup.

Now the soup is ready to be eaten. You can it it with the following

  • Wheat
  • Samolina
  • Fufu
  • Garri

Now I am enjoying my delicious meal.

  2. It helps in reducing weight loss
  3. Bitter leaf soup help in increasing breast milk for nursing mothers. And since I am a nursing mother I love eating it so much. It makes me to lactate well.

Long time ago, when I was making the "Steemit Weekly" project, one user presented this meal in the post and I was really intrigued because I have never heard about it before. I love the idea of making the food of some plant that I have never tried before and I'm anxious to try it some day. Here, in Argentina, it's impossible, because we don't have all the necessary ingredients in the shops, but if I will have the opportunity to give it a try during one of my trips, I will certainly do it.

It's a seafood. Maybe I will make a post about it one day. It is very good source of calcium. Mostly recommended by doctors to pregnant women here in Nigeria.
