Passing in time

During my visit to Cologne Cathedral, there was a fellow who was creating bubbles from a long string with hoops outside on the square. This is a very interesting juxtaposition of the permanent versus the ephemeral. As many know, Cologne Cathedral was very badly damaged during the Second World War. Fortunately, it has been totally restored. The soap bubbles, however, as beautiful as they are, are only there for a fleeting moment before disappearing forever.
