100 DAYS OF STEEM : Day 40 - Introducing the STEEM POD Project

One of the things that has most encouraged us from the 100 Days project has been seeing people come forward to take on various roles to help grow Steem.

We have Steem Greeters, Social Promoters and Community Leaders, as well as all those acting as Community Creators.

Now we want to move this up to the next level with the introduction of the STEEM POD Project.

The STEEM POD Project

As we all know, the heart of the Steem platform is the community.

Amongst that community are a growing number of people who are stepping up to take on roles to help build Steem into a platform that can enrich the lives of everyone.

We are very keen to recognize and reward these ‘heroes of Steem’.

It has already been announced that people taking on the roles of Steem Greeter, Social Promoter and Community Leader will be receiving a delegation of 1000 Steem Power.

We had mentioned that this 1000 SP was an initial delegation.

Now we can unveil the rest of the package under the new STEEM POD project.

All of these roles, and more soon to be announced, will have five levels of progression.

Everyone will start at Level 1 with 1000 SP, after that there will be four more levels each adding another 1000 SP up to Level 5 with 5000 SP…

  • Level 1 = 1000 SP
  • Level 2 = 2000 SP
  • Level 3 = 3000 SP
  • Level 4 = 4000 SP
  • Level 5 = 5000 SP

So someone could, by working hard in their chosen role, become a ‘delegated dolphin’.

Progression up the levels will not be decided by any performance test or algorithm tracking, but rather through continual review by members of the Steemit team.

We will be following the activities of each person and looking for commitment, consistency and creativity.

This will help provide the ‘Proof of Dedication’, or PoD for short, that will determine progress up the levels.

How to join the STEEM POD

So far we have five people in the STEEM POD - @cmp2020, @cryptokannon, @kiwiscanfly and @mariita52 as Steem Greeters, and @marcosdk as a Social Promoter. We will shortly be adding the first Community Leader.

Another round of applications for Steem Greeters will open next month.

The deadline for the Social Promoter applications has been extended until Friday, May 15th…

Applications for Community Leaders are now being taken until Thursday, May 21st...

We will shortly be announcing another set of roles to open up an even wider range of ways people can get involved in helping Steem.

The STEEM POD project, we believe, provides a unique opportunity for dedicated members of the community to help build Steem and get rewarded at the same time.

Thank you,

The Steemit Team

Very good thing to do for making steem to get heard outside and invite people in this community @steemitblog :D as well as encourage steemit users to promote steem and make things lively in this community.

15.05.2020 02:13

Estimada @mariita52 gracias de antemano por apoyo. Yo soy una persona disciplinada y con muchas ganas de hacer un buen trabajo en steemit, no obstante en estos últimos días he tenido una mala conexión a internet y eso me limita. No sé si me postule

15.05.2020 13:59

Igual estoy sin internet, Estoy desde el teléfono y todo es más lento aunque me apoyo mucho con Google Docs y el traductor Google app para dar la bienvenida a los nuevos no he podido hacer las traducciones.

Hey @steemcurator01 ,

13.05.2020 14:35

Thank you for the support, and the steempod idea is great.

13.05.2020 14:52

An even better idea would be to move to hive, and tell new members of steem to go there too. https://peakd.com/

13.05.2020 20:32

why is it a better idea ? handing out more candy ?

13.05.2020 23:07

peakd is an awesome non-open-source front end. I hope they will continue operating steempeak on steem blockchain too. Users should feel free to be on any platform they want 😊

13.05.2020 23:28

The communists at steemit disagree.
Not only do they downvote to hide with community owned stake, they also modified the condenser api to hide legitimate users and their comments.

14.05.2020 00:40

The community should feel grateful that steemit still standing and operate even after BTC crashed in 2017 and they have to cover the operation cost for that. I have invested in many promising project ICO that never delivered after raising the fund or just stop and run after a "half baked" operation.

14.05.2020 01:02

I am not sure when steempeak or palnet or a few other dapp interfaces started to appear, but it may have just been best if steemit bit the bullet years ago. It was draining and liquidating steem dragging the price down so they could have money to continue getting paychecks and paying rent while not doing much of anything-there is also a claim that ned scott got a bonus of $30m in steem. If steemit had just died and burned the ninja mined stake, the community wouldn't have broken apart. There are also signs that Tron may have been behind the scenes of steem for years, and given justin Sun owns polyniex(sp) and has special relationships with other major exchanges I also wouldn't put it past him to do off chain shorting (selling another persons holdings to buy back later) to get the price lower then use the discounted steem to cover as needed.

The steem chain would have survived just fine without steemit, and the bulk of the community is surviving on hive. All you really need to run a steemit like frontend interface are the witnesses [which likely also runs the api nodes], and a domain [like 10-15/year] on a static ip with https [varies], a computer [and place to put it], and fast enough internet [varies], and determination to code. Seemingly a lot of project just make steemit clones, but the steem/hive chain isn't limited to blogging. So it also is really funny hearing how steemit plans to destroy dapp potential to block voices they don't like.

Yeah I seen many crypto projects die. I mostly went the air drop route and hodl or done various experiments in my early crypto days, so even though I held tens of thousands in crypto at one time I didn't end up with a loss even as near everything failed or fell apart-and I seen just about every kind of scam or sorry excuse there was. I only sold one token that was air dropped-a dead project whose value remained stable and retained value for years only to sell it to buy steem for RCs. In checking on the price just now, even though it is a dead project, it still managed to more than double in price some 6 months later. So there does exist an instance where a dead tokenized project doesn't translate to death of a coin-but does seem to be the case 99+% of the time. But the death of steemit years ago also wouldn't translate to the death of steem because of other use cases and emerging use cases. The steem/hive chain was/is more robust than many of the token projects that emerged over the years.
