"Batty!" by Richard F. Yates

[Ink on paper with digital embellishments and color. 2019.]

The holidays are (nearly) over at this point, and Mariah and I are planning on putting the house back together this weekend. (I work a closing shift tonight, so I'm taking it kind of easy today.) In addition to taking down Xmas, we are ALSO setting up an ART studio in the room vacated by our younger daughter, Elise, who just bought a new house of her very own. Mariah even ordered me a DRAWING TABLE! Should be here tomorrow... I haven't used a real drawing table since the drafting course I took in high school. (Over 30 years ago!!!) I usually just draw sitting on the floor next to the coffee table!

I'm hoping, in the next few days, to write up a renewed plan of attack for furthering my writing, art, and publishing careers. I'm looking into new sales and distribution methods, possible convention and art fair opportunities, online avenues for moving our position forward, and techniques for ensuring I use my time more wisely!

My wife and I are officially empty nesters, and we're determined not to waste what time and resources we have at our disposal, PLUS we want to have a good time! I think, if we plan well, we'll be able to manage the whole circus. Just need to get some ideas on paper and then organize and refine them. Set a plan up, then get it rolling. We can always edit our actions as we go, discarding what proves less helpful and emphasizing those elements that bring favorable results... Keep things flexible! That's the ticket!!!

Okay. I think I'm going to grab a couple of left-over holiday goodies then maybe take a nap before I have to get ready for work. Later!!!
