I have always wondered why steemit shows so many inactive witnesses in the top 100.
Steemian.info does the same but shows enough information to to make a decision.
Do you know why the skip feature was disabled?

At least they are now showing 100, it used to be only 50...

Sure, 24 hours might be a bit harsh. Especially since replaying or trouble shooting can take a long time. But after a month of inactivity we could probably consider a witness out of service.
Ahhh. I can’t remember exactly but it has to do with security for the network

Wow so many inactive witnesses! Why doesn't steemit or whoever just remove them from the list (which is pretty rubbish and doesn't really tell you anything).
And only the top hundred as well, there needs to be an extended list beyond that like you've done to the top 300. Where did you get info on the top 300?

Sad thing is... many who may have voted for these absent witnesses are no longer active on the platform; so those votes won't change or lower an inactive witness.
That is true.
However, most of those inactive accounts also have relatively low SP which means their vote won’t influence that much. What is sadder is the potential users who have more of SP and are still active but won’t take time to change their votes. Might be interesting to run some stats on this actually.

Great, useful rule, which should get reactivated again!
Maybe a time frame of 24 hours is too short though.
Yea they need to review that or maybe find a better way to manage the whole thing with vote expiry or request to review votes every year or something
