Movie Review: The Shawshank Redemption

The Shawshank Redemption what a great movie it is! It's a must-see movie for everyone, regardless of their age. Classic, great centerpiece, these words seem very weak to rate the film. To be honest, I run out of adjectives to judge the film. It has literally become the benchmark for a great movie. He was nominated for 7 Oscars but, surprisingly, he didn't get one!

It is an adaptation of a novel "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption" written by famous writer Stephen King, then brought to the big screen by Frank Darabont. The movie is all about a simple and clear four letter word "Hope" and the script for the movie is "Going to jail for serving two life sentences from an innocent man for killing his wife and her lover secret, then its exciting life in prison and finally, after about 20 years, its great prison break. ”The script might seem average and boring on paper, but if you start watching the movie, you will definitely feel like that you are in prison with them! In fact, it didn't make a big deal at the box office, perhaps because of its straightforward storyline, and another strong reason could be the release of another great "Forrest Gump" movie where the actor Legendary Tom Hanks acted flawlessly and won the Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role but after the DVD was released everyone started to feel the essence of the movie and as a result now The Shawshank Redemption has the same 9.2 rating with The Godfather but the maximum number of votes for "The Shawshank Redemption" put him at the top of the table.

Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) stars as the doomed prisoner and Ellis Boyd "Red" Redding (superbly portrayed by Morgan Freeman) who is also a prisoner but not innocent like Andy, plays a key role in the film. Red was caught out on parole after 40 long years, then met his recently escaped friend Andy in a Mexican town in the Pacific. The film is loaded with strong and upbeat dialogue and most of it is very hard to forget like - "Some birds are not meant to be caged; their feathers are just too shiny"; “There's something inside that they can't access, that they can't touch. It's up to you.”; "Hope is a good thing and can be the best thing. And no good thing ever dies."

It's a very informative movie and definitely worth watching over and over again. To be honest, you can't afford to miss the movie. Finally, I want to say that The Shawshank Redemption is a movie you must watch before you die!
