Did Apostle outrightly condemned the women with uncovered head during public worships and prophesies to God? I think this is certainly not. Paul at first demonstrated what thought could have been more appropraite if women have their heads covered for the more reason that they are in the presence of God, men and angels who stand higher authority compared to women.
So, in the later part, Apostle Paul admits that everybody has his rights and freedom of doing things but not everything is good to practice. On the side of whether the women to have their heads covered or not during public worships or prophesies to God was a thrown back question for us to judge if it pleases with us in churches:
"Judge for yourselves. Is it right for a woman to pray to God in public without covering her head? Isn’t it obvious that it’s disgraceful for a man to have long hair? And isn’t long hair a woman’s pride and joy? For it has been given to her as a covering. But if anyone wants to argue about this, I simply say that we have no other custom than this, and neither do God’s other churches."(1 Corinthians 11:13-16 NLT)
If someone wants to read and get full understanding of the passage of this teachings, he should read from chapter 11 vs 1 downwards. This teachings have raised a lot of issues in most of our churches, with most people tackling it on doctrine bases, but let us remember that there is nothing like church denominations in Heaven, we are all Christians and therefore such issues should be analysed on Christian bases. After all, we are following Christ, we must learn and step where Christ step. Indeed, there is different between a practice which is shameful or unhealthy and a practice which is sinful. Apostle Paul on this side of teachings to my opinion was referring to a practice which would be shameful for women before or in the presence of God, Angels and men; who are superiors or Spiritually stronger than women. That is more appropriate for women to cover their heads in public prayers or prophesies. Here, Apostle Paul made submitted what he thought is always good practices, but did not strictly opposed the covering of Head by women, that is why he said we should judge for ourselves. We should again remember that any time Apostle Paul makes a pronouncement of something which is sinful practice, he says it straight forward, without even seeking one's opinion.
Apostle Paul knew that definitely this practice that he has raised would generate whole lots of different interpretations and the way many churches would suggest which is more appropriate way. In conclusion, Apostle Paul says, "they Apostles have no custom than that; neither do God's other churches." So those because of indoctrination who believe that it their custom for women to cover their heads during prayers and prophesies in public, so be it, and those who do not believe that should also take it. In some part of this World, it might be a custom for men to leave long hairs to attend churches; even the preacher might possess long hairs, but we can't condemn them as being sinners, far as it's not your custom. It think when it comes to customs in relation to some of these practices it's not sinful compare to killing, commiting adultery, fornication and many other things. But within our natural environment and life, it speaks well of us to cover our heads as women in prayers and prophesies, it speaks well of us to shave our hair nicely to look good in appearance. What really matters is to open our heart to worship God in truth.
