"Obstacles in Life" by Earl Nightingale is a very popular book in the martial arts category. I have read it several times and loved it. In this review I will go over some of the obstacles in life that this book talks about and how you can overcome them. First we will talk about overcoming obstacles that come from family. I won't get into the dynamics of having parents and then having a sibling, but the author did a good job of describing those dynamics.
When families are together there are many challenges. There is always fighting and back breaking. There are always arguing and squabbling. One of the biggest obstacles to overcome is the obstacle of arguing with your spouse. It never really ever ends. You might be the best person for the job and know it, but your spouse may not feel the same way and that is when arguments usually start.
Another obstacle to overcoming is that there is no love between you and your siblings. Most of the time they don't love each other and that is when the real tough love comes in. The way that this book describes it, is that the siblings just don't understand each other. They don't understand why one is better than the other or why they act the way that they do.
A third set of obstacles that is described is the obstacles that come from work. The author does a very good job of describing what he has gone through in his own life as well as how others have handled theirs. He is very descriptive and gives descriptions of how he was able to survive these obstacles and come out on the other side stronger and wiser. One thing I thought he did a good job with is how the obstacles in his life worked to help him become successful. His story is inspiring.
Obstacles in Life is about overcoming the obstacles that come from within. It is not about what you can do to avoid obstacles. Instead it is more about using these obstacles to grow stronger. If you have obstacles in life coming from work, then you must take time to figure out how to grow strong from them. One thing I found helpful is that he gives simple exercises for you to use as you go through your days.
Another important part of this book is when it comes to love. Love is a huge obstacle for most people, but Love is also the fuel that can get you over any obstacle. Love poems are powerful tools to use as you work through the daily trials of life. As he said in the book, the love you have for yourself will carry you through anything.
I think the love poems have helped me the most. When I am having a bad day at work or would rather be at home relaxing, writing some love poems is a good way to feel better. It also helps me to relax knowing that someone else is looking back on my day and enjoying it too. When it comes to love poems, you can never go wrong with "I Love You" by Mary Poppins.
This is just one of my favorite books written by a child prodigy. I have always been fascinated by his books, even though I didn't like them as a kid. Now that I am older I have started reading some of them again because they are so interesting and touching. While I have read "I Love You," I feel that I should share my review with you because I want you to know how much they have changed my life. They are very meaningful to me now, especially as I work through some obstacles in life.
