How to Be More Mindful and Self-aware

Being aware of your thoughts and actions on a daily basis will help you stay positive. However, it is not always easy to keep this in mind because we all allow things that don't belong to us to interfere with our lives. If you are aware of how you react to situations, then you will know when something doesn't belong to you are allowing yourself to be used by others. This, in turn, can have a negative effect. So, how can you be mindful of what you are doing?

One of the easiest ways to achieve self-awareness is to keep a journal. Write down your thoughts, feelings and emotions as they occur. You can also make lists of positive and negative thoughts and feelings so that you can evaluate your own behaviour and thoughts. By keeping an insight into what you are feeling and thinking, you will be able to see your behaviour and thoughts objectively.

Some people find it helpful to use affirmations. It is possible to repeat positive statements over again, until they become a regular part of your daily routine. Think positively, instead of thinking negatively. Remind yourself of your dreams and goals. These can be inspiring, no matter what they may appear like.

To remain in a positive state, we should take time out from our daily routines and treat ourselves to some refreshing exercise or trip to the spa. Exercise releases endorphins in the brain, which gives you a natural high. It also helps you to eliminate stress, which lowers self-esteem and reduces self-confidence. Aromatherapy can also help you to stay in a positive state.

Have a nice relaxing bath. Sit in a hot bath where you feel better. Alternatively, have someone else do this for you. Massage your body until you feel better. This helps to relax the muscles, and the endorphins kick in.

When you feel bad, it is important not to run down to the dark corner of the house and hide. Instead, turn to your favorite book, newspaper, or television. Turn on some of your favourite positive messages. Continue doing this for as long as it takes you to feel better. Soon you will feel better, and these negative thoughts will begin to fade.

If there are negative thoughts that keep ringing in your head, turn to a positive resource for information or help. You can read books about overcoming negative thoughts or attend seminars that discuss overcoming anxiety. Or, you could even attend a dance class, a singing class, or a gardening class, and spend time learning how to release negative energy through movement.

Be more mindful and self-aware. The more aware and self-aware you are of what's going on in your own life, the better you will feel. You will also discover that you have more control over things in your life, because you are more in control of them. This should empower you to make better decisions and to deal with problems in your life in a more effective way. If you don't feel good about yourself, and you don't like the way that you look, you should look into an exercise program that will help you to rid yourself of unwanted body fats and tighten up your skin, and appearance.

If you allow yourself to be more self-aware and realize the good that you have going on in your life, then you will be able to feel better about yourself, and you will attract more good to yourself, which will make you feel better about life in general.
