How to Make Marshmallow Fondant

Hello DTube and Steemians! #

In this episode of In the Kitchen with Matt I will show you how to make fondant, more specifically marshmallow fondant. This homemade fondant recipe for cakes and other treats is really easy to make using only a very few ingredients. Homemade marshmallow fondant is a little messy to work with and make but it is a lot of fun and it is much cheaper then store bought fondant. There are some countries where traditional fondant is super expensive. So this is a great alternative for people living there. :) If I can do it, you can do it, let's get started!

1lb. - 16 oz bag of marshmallows (I use the mini ones) (400g)
2 to 4 tbsp. of water (30 to 60ml)
2 lb. - 32 oz bag (8 cups) of powdered sugar (confectioners), sifted (900g)
Food coloring gel (optional)
Shortening for your hands and work surface

large bowl
silicon mat (optional)
plastic wrap

Thanks for stopping by!

Great video, @ mrchef111. Your video reminded me that It has been a while since I last posted a cooking video. Thanks for sharing your recipe for fondant. Yeah... it’s best to be wearing an apron when working with powdered sugar or flour or when preparing/cooking food.

I imagine this sort of fondant would especially appeal to those that really like rice krispy treats.

Possibly although when it is in this form, it really doesn't taste anything like it anymore. haha it taste closer to traditional fondant, only a bit better in my opinion.
