Markhor is a national animal of Pakistan and is mostly found in Gilgit Baltistan's mountainous area. Markhor live in herds and are very good climbers. During my visit to Hunza, I was not lucky to see this animal in wild but I saw a stuffed Markhor in a hotel. Markhor is an endangered animal and now it is being protected in some areas but still trophy hunting is going on to generate funding to protect them.
