Achievement 3// by @judeet10// Task: Content Etiquette.

Good Morning Steemians. I'm glad I'm finally making my Achievement 3 post on plagiarism here in the Newcomers Community.

What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism in lay-man terms can simply mean copy and paste, or it could also mean copying a person's work verbatim.

Plagiarism means to steal or use ones work without permission and without giving credit to the person or the source.

Types Of Plagiarism.

There are different types of plagiarism and they include the following:

  1. Direct Plagiarism:
This is when a person's work is copied word for word and without attribution nor quotation marks.
  2. Self Plagiarism
This occurs when a person or student copies from his or her own previous work without permission or citation.
  3. Accidental Plagiarism
This occurs when a person neglects to cite their sources, or misquotes their sources.
  4. Mosaic Plagiarism
This occurs when a person borrows phrases from a source without using quotation marks or find synonyms for the author's language.

How To Avoid Plagiarism

1 Cite your source.
2 Include quotations.
3 Paraphrase.
4 Present your own idea.
5 Use a plagiarism checker
