Crashed the car last night☹️.

On my way home last night from a friend's 51st birthday dinner I got a Forester Kangaroo. It jumped out of the darkness I hit the brakes and zigged left as it went right the roo then zagged left and we made contact. It all happened in around 3 seconds the roo went into the bush and I drove off and fortunately made it home okay. Unfortunately the car is not real good now😠. Stupid kangaroos with no self preservation in there heads. The Forester Kangaroo is the largest marsupial in Tasmania and the second largest in the world. Males can reach over 60kg (132 lbs) and can stand 2m (6 ft) tall. And the one I hit would have been very close to this size.

The little car held up well considering the impact was around 50 kilometers an hour.

They're unpredictable huh? Too bad you didn't manage to miss it. A bit of work to fix the car now I guess. I've hit a couple and it never really ends well for the vehicle, or the roo.

They sure are unpredictable mate, I would have missed it if it did not bounce back in front after it had already made it into the other lane. Never ends good for either that's the problem.

That sucks mate, after all the work you put into fixing it.

Lucky you were only doing 50 if you were going much faster it could been a serious accident. Do you think the damage is superficial or has it done any serious damage?

Yep sucks for sure, I was doing around 85-90 and made impact at around 50. It drive home about 12 kilometres no problem and still has water in the radiator I don't know how it doesn't leak as it's rather mangled. It fixable a replacement bonnet, headlight pumper and radiator would do wonders.

True though a good chance the roo was injured. Car can be fixed just not something I really need to deal with at this time of trying to get the house up for sale and go traveling.

Squirrels do that but they cause less damage. I hate hitting them though. You would think they would of worked out how to cross a road by now but I suppose evolution takes a long time. Must be frightening hitting something that big in a small car. Hope its not too difficult to straighten out.

That's my thoughts how can you animals not work it out by now not to go in front of vehicles. It's fixable just not something I needed to deal with on top of trying to get the house etc ready to sell.

Never nice, you can be the best driver on the road, and those type of things are completely inavoidable, even autonomy can't forsee them, sending good vibes.
