What is Plagiarism?
"Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work." Source
Essentially, the safest bet on internet or elsewhere is to keep your content as original as possible and if not try to give credit to all the sources possible. I personally don't think there is any harm in parapharsing. Sometimes, certains things need to be said and understood in multiple other ways to be understood with much more clarity. But when I blog professionally, I make sure to always cite the sources and give due credits to original authors.
It may be possbile, lets say, that you are not aware of the original artist whose artwork you may try to mimick and then post the same on social media. Nothing wrong with it but you can mention that the original author is 'Unknown'. Or in other case, if author gets to know your renditions and asks politely for credits, do add them to your post. It recently, happened with me and it all went gracefully. You can infact checkout the comments on this post on mine on instagram for a casestudy.
I stumbled upon some other legit sources while looking up for Plagiarism on internet that I would like to share here. Most notable of all being a website dedicated to understanding and preventing Plagiarism called plagiarism.org. They even have a collection of videos to elaborate on this subject.
Apparently, there are even online free tools to check for plagiarism. Check out this small video I made to demohe same. https://plagiarismdetector.net/
