Chelsea were extremely active in this summer's transfer window, with the London club spending over millions on new players. One of the players the club picked up was Timo Werner from RB Leipzig. The English big club triggered the German striker's buy-out clause. There were high expectations for the 25-year-old player, but Timo Werner has not exactly lived up to expectations.
It has turned into 10 goals and nine assists in 37 matches in all tournaments for the German striker, who has only found the net in the Premier League five times. There was an expectation that the hiring of Chelsea's new German manager, Thomas Tuchel, could benefit Timo Werner, but that has not become a reality either.
Several Chelsea sources have told Football Insider that Chelsea therefore have an expectation that Werner will leave the club within a short time. According to Football Insider, it is very possible that the German will already be sold this summer, and otherwise he will have to leave the club within a year or two
