Good morning family this is my entry to steemwomenclub contest #8. I was actually invited by the steemwomenclub community when I made a post on steemfoodcommunity, so when I saw the invite I gladly accepted to come and participate in the contest, guess you will love my post?🤗🤗🤗🤗
So today I will be taking us on how to create something(plate) from papier-mâché.
Now before we begin let's know what papier-mâché is.
The dictionary defines papier-mâché as a torn-up paper and other possible materials mixed with paste or glue used to create, when the mass is dried, a surprisingly durable sculptural object.
These are the materials to be used;
4. Clean Stone or mortar and pestle for pounding
5. Object to be used
6. Palm oil.
So this are steps involved in making a plate from a papier-mâché.
First thing first look for or get old newspapers,👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
after that you shred it into sizeable pieces, then get a bucket and pour water inside, after pouring the water inside it you then add your starch, mix it thoroughly least the starch becomes coarse. After mixing the starch very well with the water you then pour your shredded newspaper inside of it, allow it for three days.
When you are sure that the starch has gotten into every part of the newspaper you then remove it from the bucket and pound👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
After pounding you get a plate depending on the size you want and apply palm oil on it (precisely stainless plate because the rubber plate tends not to hold the papier-mâché well or tight on the plate used, the papier-mâché gradually falls off each time it being placed on it, you may wonder how I knew it but this is out of experience) 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
then apply palm oil on it, now the Palmoil helps for easy detaching of the papier-mâché when its dried up.
After applying the palm oil on the plate you pick up the pounded papier-mâché and paste it on the plate, paste it round the plate depending on how the plate is.
After that you dry under the sun for three days or four👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
Note:- That you have to carry the plate papier-mâché inside when it's night, then when its day time you bring it out again to dry under the sun.
You keep checking on it till its all dried up. Then you try detaching the plate from the papier-mâché, remember i said it will be much easier to detach it because of the application of the palm oil, then boom your papier-mâché is ready, try it and thank me later🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Thanks for engaging my
