As I mentioned in the posts about my experience with the book "How to win friends and influence people", today I have my own training program in public speaking and human relations. So I want to share with you some of the topics I have developed on communication, sharing my vision and in some cases my teaching methodology. This will be the first post of many on communication, public speaking and interpersonal relations. I hope you enjoy it.
To communicate is to transmit information, but in an effective and understandable way, taking into account all physical, emotional and environmental aspects to make it happen.
Why* do we communicate? Firstly because we are social beings. It is inevitable not to communicate; even our silences and immobility communicate. We communicate because we have the need to express ourselves, to transmit information, to manifest what we feel and think. We want to be heard, we are motivated by the fact that someone knows us, knows and understands or what we have to say.
Why do we communicate? We communicate to make ourselves understood, to sell more, to avoid misunderstandings with our colleagues, to treat our customers better, to be better people, to get along better with our children and so on. That is the purpose and objective of communicating and when we do it effectively it allows us to better transmit our thoughts and feelings, bringing as a consequence to feel better about ourselves. However, there is also subjectivity in the why, so only you know the true purpose you have in wanting to communicate better.
** do you communicate? In many ways: written, verbal, vocal, gestural. These are the ways in which human beings communicate. The ideal is to learn to do it the right way.
Where do we communicate? Well, my dear, the question is, where don't we communicate? Because even our sleeping position reflects our mood. Always and everywhere we communicate, that's why it's so important to be aware of how we do it. On what we communicate depends, many times, the success in the vital areas of our life, whatever those vital areas are for you.
We communicate asleep and awake, sitting and standing, talking and silent, with our hands or with our eyes. With a letter or with our voice.
Communication is something essential to life, it is a vital function in every person. We cannot do without it without running the risk of our mental, emotional and social functions being affected. That is why it is so important to be aware of it, of our abilities and shortcomings, but above all of the fact that we can improve.
This is what I think about communication, and what do you think about it?
Leave your comment, I'll be happy to read it and answer you.
