My Post STEEMFest Crash and Burn

I have been a zombie for most of today. I got some sleep and a couple of posts out, but little else.

I had to get drinking water, and so took a bit of a longer hike out for food. I could barely make the walk, but with a lot of stopping and resting, I did it. Eating has helped, and now I am off to bed.

When you have autoimmune disease, it is not something you can fight. It's something you have to indulge. A strange thing about those who suffer with it is that - we can to the thing we NEED to do, but then we can do nothing else.

I've been thinking about a man in one of my groups. A few years ago he HAD to walk his daughter down the aisle. This was something the two of them had talked of many times. Now she was getting married, and he could barely walk at all on a good day.

She was marrying a guy this man in my group could not stand, but he was hiding that from her. All he wanted was to make her special day perfect, and so he did.

He made the long walk, handed her off, and when he sat in the pew, "I thought I would not be able to get up again."

But he did get up and dance the "Father's Dance" with her too, and told us he was about to vomit over her shoulder the whole time, but did not.

We in the group encouraged him for months before the event. We held our breath and worried and prayed on the weekend it happened.

Finally he came back to say that everything went well. But now he had not been able to get out of bed for 3 days. His boss said, "If you can party for your daughter's wedding, you can get your butt into work."

But he could not. He could only do the thing he had to do. Now he had to recover.

This is where I am now after STEEMFest. I did what I had to do. Now I can only wait for my body to come back.

I'm so excited by all I learned and so eager to pass it on. But it's best I just recover now and not worry a day or two will pass.

This is my random freewrite for today, while @mariannewest is not posting the prompt in a timely manner. Maybe she is in some kind of odd state like me. Nobody is perfect.

My photo is light trails from Christmas lights in Coronado California a long time ago. This idea is that we can reach for anything and make it if we try. I used some cheap point and shoot for this pic.
