I can still remember the first Dali image I ever saw. I was probably about 10 years old in a poster shop in Stockport called Athena. You don't see poster shops any more which is a shame.
Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranite a Second Before Awakening was the snappily titled painting and I think I was probably drawn to it in the first place by the naked woman sprawled across the bottom. Under closer inspection of the rest of the piece I was captivated. I still am every time I see it.
I saved up for ages to get this book and it is the only book I read regularly. It's incredibly detailed and covers every step of the great man's life and work.
By far my favourite image within is Galatea of the Spheres and if you haven't witnessed it's beauty I suggest you go and have a look,
Anyway I digress. I shot this tonight as I thought it would make a good prop as it is large enough to conceal a flashgun. My arms are killing though :)
Beauty dish above, snooted flash below gelled Peacock blue and orange gel on the one inside the book. Blast of vapour blown inside the book just before the shutter fired.
I'm off to drool over the contents of the book for about the millionth time :)
This is number 10 of my 366 for 2020.
