The Smile, Acrylic on Paper, 2016
I don’t know what to call this phase of my art career. There isn’t much I like. I think I was experimenting a lot with different styles, and it was a super stressful period of my life.
I almost think if I took away the “dimples” this might have passed as halfway ok. But even the mouth itself is scary. And to title it “The Smile” just draws all the attention right to it.
It’s primitive. Naive even.
I’m posting every painting I have ever done from 2014 to the present, the good, the bad, and the ugly. With an occasional photograph or sketch thrown in just to mix things up. Check back daily to see my progression as an “artist”!
