Surely you will have heard that the Lord says: "The wise will hear and increase knowledge." Certainly, when we bow our ears to hear the word of the Lord, our mind and our heart expand.
There is a proverb that says:
Apply your heart to teaching, and your ears to the word of wisdom (Proverbs 23:12).
God has been talking to man for many centuries, God loves to live together, God loves unity. However, man has rejected the wisdom of God, to follow in the footsteps of his own human wisdom.
The proverb we are analyzing says: "Apply your heart to teaching."
If man applied in his heart the wisdom of God, logically, we would have a more humanistic and sensitive world. If children applied in their hearts the teaching of their parents, we would have a world full of ethics and greater respect, the juvenile delinquency rate would be lower than the current scales. He also says the word: "And your ears to the words of wisdom."
God demands that man, besides being a listener of his word, be a maker of it and keep it in his heart.
Humanity can only change if it stops to listen to God's wisdom and apply it to his heart. The principle of wisdom is the fear of Jehovah. This is the key to a prosperous and educated society in the eyes of God.
