Saturday was probably my most uninspired betting day of the season. The Over 3.25 pre-game bet in my Saturday Preview post ended up winning despite the Asian market moving heavily against it which is never a good sign. The match ended up in a crazy 5-5 score and the league just feels like it's on drugs at the moment. I feel that all the angles I use for my regular handicapping can be thrown out of the window so I will keep everything to the sheer basics today and stay cautious on my stakes...
Antwerp vs Standard
https://images.hive.blog/DQmT9EUtKuwHjg4ozA974RdcqatutUJjoPmHfgZqjFiLtDh/IMG_1279.jpgBoth teams are at the end of an extremely busy month with 1 match every 3 days. Antwerp disappo!inted against LASK while Standard also was nowhere against Lech Poznan. The visitors on top suffer a lot of injuries/covid cases which mostly affects their defense. Important Antwerp striker Mbokani on the other hand is not in his best form. My lean does go out to Antwerp as Standard really looked vulnerable in defense what normally is their strong point given the players they are missing. Standard also has had a big scoring problem these past matches. My main lean is on Antwerp -0.25 but I will be waiting to see what the match brings first. No pre-Game Bets
Oostende vs Club Brugge
https://images.hive.blog/DQmaqih79pXU5AWGHNNUMtDidHh6nj2eQQhk17Qs6a8Q8jx/IMG_1280.jpgOostende has been playing very well this season but saw their winning streak end last week with a 1-0 loss against Standard. They continue to play with a lot of energy and high pressing annoying the opponents. Club Brugge took things too lightly last week against Mechelen giving away a 2-0 lead.L They simply were not good enough against Dortmund. Fatigue might be an issue for them this match but I do think they should be able to take the win. I was tempted by the 1.8 odds early this week but didn't act on it and missed the boat as they have dropped to 1.66 by now. I did get in on the Over as Club Brugge no longer seems to have the rock-solid defense while they do manage to quite easily score goals and Oostende is also an attacking over team. Over 3 @ 1.969 is what I took small-medium which was a bet I also shared on the SBC Discord at the time of taking. Oostende is also king of corners and I took a tiny bet on Oostende +2 Corners @ 1.714.
AA Gent vs Anderlecht
https://images.hive.blog/DQmP7iZEF42NTTJ6dVMDbUNQrJxPtQtFEHyhAhjkodu8jCx/IMG_1281.jpgThis is a match between an under-rewarded team (AA Gent) and an over-rewarded team (Anderlecht). If it wasn't for the many matches AA Gent has played extra because of the Europa League, I would always take them at the -0.25 line. Anderlecht played w weird match last week and while it looked like they played it smart ditching the offensive-minded approach Kompany is aiming for, based on some interviews this was not something they had planned to do. Teams that get 'lucky' more often tend to continue getting lucky while teams that are 'unlucky' tend to continue getting unlucky. In that regard, it's hard for me to oppose Anderlecht especially when knowing there will be some fatigue in AA Gent. The home team did see at least 10 corners in their last 6 matches and I can see a similar pattern today. I took an initial pre-game bet on Over 10 Corners @ 2.01 with an eye to maybe take more on it live.
Cercle Brugge vs Zulte-Waregem
https://images.hive.blog/DQmULzb57TBAX7u5My7Gv3csKcE2d8KDcnu6cmAJ21GMA5z/IMG_1282.jpgBased on what these teams have shown so far, Cercle Brugge well deserves to be the home favorite. Zulte-Waregem has been in a slump despite the fact that they should have enough quality in the team. On defense they just too often give it away while they do have a hard time to actually score goals and now their best striker Dompé is also out. Last week, I took a pre-game trading position on 1st half Under 1 @ 2.90 which was spot on as the match was just boring despite the high 3.25 total line. Cercle Brugge is a team that does play forward so I'm going to skip even though I would not be surprised to see a match where Zulte starts with all focus on defense. They simply don't score goals easily enough right now to get away with wide-open matches. Once the first goal comes, all floodgates might go open. The 4 last matches from Cercle Brugge saw 10 corners or more and the same thing goes for Zulte-Waregem. I also in this match took an initial pre-game bet on Over 9.5 Corners @ 1.819 with an eye to possibly take more. Both teams are also quite high on late goals so that will be something I will look at in-game.
Pre-Game Preview Bets
I continue to share many of my pre-game bets in all my preview posts. Most of them are smaller bets or trading positions and some of them I took early in the week and might not have the exact same odds available. These bets should just be seen as info and not as something to blindly follow. Record on them so far this season is 103 Bets | +17.86% ROI on Flat Unit bets (See Results) Bigger pre-game bets which are rare these days I also tend to take extra on those in BTC.
