How to Identify and Challenge Your Negative Beliefs

You have heard that before. It is written everywhere. The Law of Attraction is discussed at length in the popular courses taught all over the world. Yet, at least for me, learning how to identify and challenge your negative beliefs was one of the most valuable lessons I learned.

The Law of Attraction is based on the simple principle that we are what we think of ourselves as being. Our thoughts create our reality. Thus, it is imperative to understand this in every way. If you believe that you are poor, sad, sick, etc., then you will become so. However, if you believe you are wealthy, energetic, intelligent, etc., then you will manifest those things in your life.

Now, it may be difficult to identify where these particular beliefs originate. You might say that you were born with a negative belief about money. Yet, this is not so. Your belief may simply have been something you have believed your entire life - perhaps from a very young age.

Take some time to go through your things you believe about yourself. You need to look for the negative beliefs you hold about yourself. Then ask: Am I correct? If not, then examine why you are wrong. Is there really an alternate thought that could be true?

Often times, it is possible to shift your negative beliefs. For example: If you believe you are unattractive, then try to become more attractive. Wear flattering clothes. Be sure you look your best. Look in the mirror.

Identifying and challenging your negative beliefs will help you grow and expand. You will no longer allow these negative ideas to control your actions. Instead, you will start to value all your relationships, and you will be happy with who you are as a person. Your self-esteem and confidence level will skyrocket!

  1. Challenge your inner voice. We often tell ourselves what we want to hear - but are we really listening? Identify negative inner chatter and decide what it is you really want to hear - positive thoughts mixed with realistic optimism.

In conclusion, we have talked about the negative behaviors that can be a cause for low self esteem and low confidence. We have looked at some of the ways in which you can change those behaviors. Now it is time to identify the positive things about yourself. And start using these positive things to attract all the good things in your life.

The Power of Perception - Every single one of us has a unique gift or talents. Take advantage of these gifts and talents. Pursue your passions. Surround yourself with positive people who support and encourage you. Turn your negative feelings into positive ones - you can do it.

Self Talk - The way you talk to yourself can make or break you. Be honest with yourself and talk to yourself about your accomplishments and your short comings. Also, learn to say no to some of your own desires. For example: I am not going to spend another five hours at the gym. Once I start saying no to some of my own wants, this energy can begin to shift my focus back on the positive things in my life.

Visualization - The power of visualization is one of the best self help tools that I know of. If you have ever seen a movie where the plot revolves around someone trying to visualize something, like that of their perfect relationship, or where they are trying to create the perfect work environment for themselves - this is what visualization is all about. You need to envision yourself meeting all of your goals and achieving them. Think about the feelings of joy you will feel once you are finally able to achieve all of your goals.

Focus - Finding your "focus" is one of the most powerful things that anyone can do. Find your tribe - your niche. Then figure out how you can make your life story a success. Focus on that. Identify and challenge your own negative beliefs - make them an absolute first priority - in everything you do.

Remember, once you have identified and challenged all of your negative beliefs, make a list of positive beliefs. This is just an exercise. Once you have made a list of positive beliefs, go back and read these again. Remember, that you have to love yourself in order to love others - and then you can begin to challenge those negative beliefs you have!
