Card Collection Part 8 - Ultimate HODLer

It's kind of trippy how many Jose Canseco cards I have. I had forgotten that I had that many cards of him. I ended up beating him in a home run derby back in 2013 in Texas. That day I hit the only grand slam I ever hit in the game and between the two games of the double header we had the home run derby for the fans.

I've got a couple of autographed Dwight Evans cards I found at the Goodwill Bins in Portland like 3 or 4 years ago now. Are they worth anything?

That is crazy they were autographed. The best way to try to see would be to look them up on eBay and see what the sold listings are.

They aren't worth much. I'd be lucky to find a card store that would give me a few dollars for them. He wasn't a famous player.

There's a great Netflix Documentary called Jack of All trades. It's about a kid who's mother told him he had to move his old cards out of her condo, and as he's going through them it brings up all these memories of childhood. He also goes to see what they are worth only to realize most 90s cards are worthless. It even touches on how Upper Deck were a bunch of shadeballs making thousands of sheets of valuable cards devaluing them and kind of defrauding their customers. Decent watch

I feel like in 20 more years enough cards will get thrown out that some value will return to some of the cards but it is hard saying.
