Dad Tip of the Day: Give your kids ice cream in moderation as it has a number of benefits.
Ice cream gets a bad rap from a health standpoint, which is probably not surprising as it does have a lot of sugar. However, ice cream in moderation can actually have a lot of benefits. I found a good article online that discusses some of them: https://www.littlethings.com/ice-cream-health-benefits/4
- Contains calcium (a weight-loss ingredient) and vitamins and minerals
- Stimulates the brain
- Gives you energy
- Strengthens your bones
- Boosts your immune system
- Increases chances of fertility and increases your libido
- Makes you happier
Of course, too much is a bad thing, as your body converts the excess sugars into fat, which spirals into other health issues.
So when it comes to children, helping them understand enjoyment of ice cream in moderation can be a great thing for them overall. And of course, kids love ice cream, and we parents like making our kids happy so this is chance to score some points in that area as well!
