Dad Tip of the Day: Help your kids play with bubbles as there a numerous benefits.
As a dad, I like to play what my kids like to play. To figure out what they like to play, we need to introduce them to many different kinds of play and with many different things. Each child is different, so there is not a one size fits all approach to playing with kids.
That being said, my kids have grown to like playing with bubbles. They like blowing them, they like swinging the wand around to create them, and they like chasing bubbles. Because of this, we have a few 1 gallon tubs of bubbles as backup in the garage, as they tend to spill and get used up quickly. Here are my kids playing with some bubbles:
I found a good article online that talks about the benefits of bubbles for kids: https://www.cde.state.co.us/cdelib/bubblesfortoddlers
The article says things like:
- Blowing bubbles creates excitement, curiosity and experimentation
- Blowing bubbles increases fine motor skills
- Chasing bubbles keeps kids active by crawling, reaching, climbing, etc
- Introduces science concepts, such as wind, translucent, transparent, rainbow, etc.
So get out the bubbles and play with your young kids!
