With the temperatures still way up above average we wanted to spend more family time together. Today we set our sights on the monument that overlooks our house and city and all of greater Berks County, the Pagoda!
Built in 1906-1907, this 3rd century Japanese style "gazebo" originally intended to be a luxury hotel, is now a tourist attraction for the public and is open several days of the week with a basic cafe at the bottom floor. The spot offers a grand view of the city below and all the surrounding school districts and towns for atleast 10 - 15 miles down the road.
We wanted to bring James to the top to experience the view at a young age, and hope that when we go back in the later years, he will shout and tell us he can remember being there before..
A very windy mid morning but bright and sunny to get all that vitamin D production going.
Its always a little breezy at the windward side of the mountain, as the pagoda rests. But today was exceptional with the temperature swing approaching.
James seemed to have a tough time seeing too well with the wind whipping around so intensely. So, I cannot guarantee he had a good time there.. but we did take him to a playground right after!
I love my boy, James.
I pray to Heavenly Father. Take care y'all!
