Round number 8
Fog, Saturday morning, autumn morning, this is the best time to go to the forest to look for mushrooms, mosses and lichens.
These subtle organisms are a great blessing to humans and animals.
They give them food and the joy of contemplating beautiful nature.
I was tormented by one question, when the first mushroom pickers appeared, and, as they learned, it is poisonous mushroom, or edible.
At the cost of your life?
The answer to my question, I received while reading the Bible, the Book of Exodus.
I could be wrong, but, it looks like mushrooms.
For forty years, Jews roamed the expanses of the desert.
But, God did not leave them without food.
Every day, he gave them manna, which the Jews were supposed to collect from the surface of the sandy desert, but only as much as they could eat in one day.
Otherwise, this manna deteriorated, wormed and smelled foul.
This is very similar to mushrooms, which, if you do not cook them immediately, after returning from the forest, deteriorate, worms crawl out of them and, they really smell bad when they start to rot.
If, starting from this, then, mushrooms played a crucial role in the history of mankind. Perhaps manna is under our feet, every morning, and today.
Grace is added to grace, as the Holy Scripture says, so let the grace in the form of mushrooms be added to the grace that God sends us in the form of tokens for your excellent photographs.
Today, we have the winners of the competition last week!
Dear @artofwisdom, he provided a wonderful photograph that captured a mushroom colony and wonderful moss. This is a fabulous beauty! It seemed to me that, at some point, I saw a hobbit who was hiding under a mushroom. When I looked a second time, the hobbit already managed to hide.
Author - @artofwisdom - The first place
Dear @eii, his photograph shows us magnificent-looking, fungus Coprinellus micaceus. This is an inedible, but not poisonous mushroom, as it might seem at first glance. Great job!
Author - @eii - The second place!
The prizes has found its winners!
How can I take part in this competition without leaving home?
Lichens, often live on the reinforced concrete surfaces of our balconies, and you can find moss in your aquarium if you have one.
In any case, this expands the scope of your search.
If you look attentively at a photograph of my aquarium, you will see moss that has encircled a wooden snag at the bottom of the aquarium.
Of course, you can make a mistake by accepting, for mosses, filamentous algae, which are the simplest, but, for this contest, this option will be acceptable.
Mushrooms are beautiful, their companions - mosses and lichens, are no less beautiful.
I want to see many pictures of mushrooms, mosses and lichens, every week.
