MAKING MY SPECIAL CAKE FOR STEEMIT'S 5TH ANNIVERSARY
In celebration of Steemit's 5th anniversary, I made a Chocolate Ganache Drip Cake.
•Baking Powder-2 teaspoons
•Vanilla flavour-½ teaspoon
BAKING THE CAKE
•First,cream butter and sugar till fluffy
•Next, prepare the two baking pans and set aside.
To do this,simply rub enough butter inside the pan ,put little flour and dust round to cover every part rubbed in butter.
This prevents baked cake from sticking to the pan,hence, the cake comes out easily from the pan
•Add dry ingredients to flour :baking powder and preservative(both levelled). Mix together with a big spoon.
•Add vanilla flavour to creamed butter & sugar and mix well together with a spatula
•Whisk eggs till fluffy
When breaking eggs,I broke one egg at a time into a cup before pouring into the whisking bowl. This helps to get rid of any bad egg without spoiling the other eggs.
•Measure the water into a cup

Now the wet ingredients are ready, we add by alternating.
half of water already added and mixed into it
add half of whisked eggs and mix
add and fold in half of flour gently
Repeat these 3 steps for the remaining halves.
Cake batter made
Scoop into the prepared pans. Baking in two places is faster,and cake remains fluffy to taste.
Bake for about 20-25minutes. Check with a skewa to know when cake is done. Skewa comes out clean when cake is well baked.
I wanted to save gas so I used electric cooker by baking with a pot. I used a sheet to cover the sand bath before placing the pan on it.

FROSTING & DESIGNING CAKE
For the frosting ,I used some buttercream in green colour( as green is a part of steemit colour) and some plain one.

Ganache: Chocolate chips + cream
Water is a good substitute for cream,you get the same result
Chocolate chips were not available at the store,so I used a big chocolate bar and . I made this ganache by melting a chocolate bar and adding little water to obtain a thick runny consistency as seen below.
Then on a cake topper,I designed a steemit logo and a heart ( showing my love for steemit)😊
I finished off with some edible gold dredges, edible stars, butterfly cutout and placed the topper right in the middle.
