Ethereum Beacon is an Ethereum based cryptocurrency platform. This platform has an innovation that can make the transition from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake faster and without obstacles posed by the lobby. This innovation was designed by this platform team in smaller networks so that development is faster. This transition speed in transaction processing up to 1000 tps and more.

Innovations designed by the Ethereum Beacon team

  1. Sharding concept, this concept will break the network into several segments which are mostly independent, or fractional, each with its own status so that there will be an actual increase in network capacity that will come gradually in Beta and Gamma.
  2. Etehereum Beacon virtual machine. Ethereum Virtual Machine, or EVM, is a runtime environment for smart contracts that makes it possible to isolate contract code from any process or file on the host computer. EVM ensures interaction between different types of accounts: external accounts and contract accounts. Depending on the type of contract, EVM can execute instructions to send tokens, make or burn tokens, make refunds, and so on. Simple fund transmission does not necessarily require a virtual machine, but in a decentralized future where dApps will replace many traditional applications, VMs are crucial for carrying out complex contracts. This is why it is sometimes called "global decentralized computer".
  3. The next innovation is WASM. This is a Web Assembly, a new compact binary instruction format that acts as a bridge between machines and code written in other languages except for JavaScript. WASM is a new virtual machine that will replace EVM, which reflects the early stages of the blockchain industry: slow and out of date. Wasm is a creation of W3C, or World Wide Web Consortium - an international organization to develop global web standards, which was founded in 1994 and consists of more than 400 member organizations.
    The biggest advantage of Wasm compared to the existing system is speed: it allows it to run web applications as fast as native code. It's also a language agnostic: developers can write applications in any language, and it will be compiled into Wasm through specialized translator tools. Coder is not expected to write directly in Wasm; although there is a special Wasm text format (.wat), it is a binary format, not human-readable code.
  4. The next stage, the Beacon team will have designed the Beacon Assembly as a modification of Wasm that is tailored to the needs of the blockchain network. In particular, the Ethereum Beacon virtual machine will be deterministic, ensuring that each instruction is executed in exactly the same way at each node (in other types of applications that are not determinism it is often not a problem). On the other hand, many Wasm features are completely unnecessary in the blockchain, because Web Assembly was originally created for web applications as a companion to JavaScript.

In addition to the new innovations above, the Ethereum Beacon team is also launching an EBEA crypto token. EBEA tokens will be distributed free of charge to all Ethereum holders at a ratio of 1: 1, which means that for each ETH, one will receive 1 EBEA. It is important to note that ETH is not exchanged with EBEA; Ethereum Beacon tokens will be airdropped for free. The base for distribution will be a snapshot of the Ethereum network, which will be taken on August 8, 2019, at 20:00 GMT.
