It seems spring starts later in the peat bog here in The Netherlands than in other places. Maybe it's the soil that makes trees struggle, maybe it's the relative lack of flowers. Anyway, a bit later than elsewhere, these beauties have arrived in th peat bog as well:

It wasn't easy getting a good photo, these butterflies are very territorial, and every time another one showed itself within a few meters, they would fly off to engage in air combat. Interesting to see, but their sitting still would have made my life a bit easier.
